ILT20 2025 Venues - Pitch Report & Records

The ILT20 starts on 2ⁿᵈ December 2025 and the tournament once again unfolds across the three major UAE venues that each tell a very different story. Dubai usually gives a steady balanced surface, Sharjah invites clean hitting with its compact layout, and Abu Dhabi demands patience on a slightly slower deck where smart rotation matters as much as power.
Dew, evening conditions, and subtle changes in pace make these grounds tricky to read, turning surface awareness into a real competitive advantage. This ILT20 season will reward teams that understand the rhythm of UAE pitches quicker than everyone else.
Dubai International Cricket Stadium
Dubai often produces a steady and predictable surface where the ball comes on nicely but still gives bowlers something to work with. Batters who take their time early can build strong innings, yet the pitch does not usually offer a free scoring experience from the start.
Dew can play a role in the second innings which is why chasing sides often feel more comfortable as the ball skids on and strokeplay becomes smoother. The contest usually stays around that middle range where both teams feel they have a chance.
- T20 Matches: 250
- Batting 1st won: 107
- Batting 2nd won: 143
- Average Score : 148
Sharjah Cricket Stadium
Sharjah is a compact ground that naturally encourages aggressive batting, but the surface itself has shifted over the years and is not always a pure batting paradise. The bounce is true but not overly quick and bowlers who rely on accuracy and smart variations can still control the game.
Chasing often becomes a bit easier at Sharjah once the pitch settles although it can slow down at times and make timing harder. The ground rewards clean hitters yet still keeps the bowlers interested when they execute properly.
- T20 Matches: 180
- Batting 1st won: 81
- Batting 2nd won: 99
- Average Score : 148
Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi
The surface at Zayed Cricket Stadium generally offers a slightly slower surface compared to the other UAE venues with a hint of grip that keeps bowlers in the contest for longer spells. Batters who rotate strike and pick the right moments can still build strong totals, but it is rarely a ground where players walk in and start hitting from ball one.
Chasing sides usually feel more comfortable once the pitch settles and the ball comes on a bit better. It is a venue that often sits in the middle ground where neither extreme batting dominance nor extreme bowling dominance takes over.
- T20 Matches: 202
- Batting 1st won: 93
- Batting 2nd won: 107
- Average Score : 145
