The new season of The Men's Hundred league is here as the 2025 edition kicks off with the big match between the London Spirit and the Oval Invincibles at the Lord's on August 5 from 11 P.M IST.
The Oval Invincibles are the defending champions of the league, having beaten the Southern Brave in the final match last season to be crowned the champions.
The Oval Invincibles had a strong bowling attack last season. Australian spinner Adam Zampa took 19 wickets while Sam Curran contributed 17 wickets of his own. Will Jacks and Saqib Mahmood also chipped in with small contributions.
As for the London Spirit, they finished at the rear of the league table. Throughout the season, they won only one match and lost the remaining 7 games.
Their terrible form last season is visible by the fact that Liam Dawson was the side's best bowler with 7 wickets. Olly Stone also picked 7 wickets while Nathan Ellis took 5 wickets. No other bowlers could take more than 5 wickets for them.
